HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT.

Following is the High Commissioner's report under date London, July 22. (Note: Quotations unless otherwise specified, are average market prices on Spot.)': .Mutton,—Trade lor all classes has been very slow and prices barely maintained. Canterbury. 3%d, North Island 3y s d, River Plate 3%d. Lamb.—Market weak and less demand. Canterbury fid, other than Canterbury 4%d, River Plate 4'/ 2 d.

Beef. The market is dull. The weather lately has been unfavorable for the sale of beef, New Zealand hinds S'Ad. fores 2y 4 d.

Butter. —The market is very firm, with considerable speculation, as the weather is too dry. Choicest New Zealand butter per ewt 112s, Australian 108s. Danish 121s, Siberian 107s.

Cheo.se.—The market is firm, with good demand. Colored 01s, white 00s. Hemp.—The market is dull. Auction sales this week closed with weak demand and no transactions of importance. New Zealand good fair on spot per ton .i2il-, fair grades £l9 10s, fair current Manila £2O 10s, forward shipments about the same. The output for the week from Manila was 10,000 bales. Wheat.—Limited demand for better grades. New Zealand long herried wheat, ex granary, per quarter mf 4901b, 35s 6d; short berried 355.

Oats.—Market firmer. The supply falls short of the demand. New Zealand oats, short sparrowbills, ex granary, per quarter of 3841b, 21s; Danish, per quarter of 3201b, 17s (Id. P.eans.—Market rather quiet. New Zealand beans f.a.q. (old crop) per 3401b, 17s Bd. Peas.—Market dull and very little business doing. New Zealand peas (partridge)- per 5041b, 595. Wool.—The market remains firm.
