MAN AND WIFE MISSING
DISAPPEARANCE OF AN OIL LAUNCH. A MISSING LAUNCH. By Telegraph—Press Association. Blenheim, Monday. It was reported in town this morning that Mr. and Mrs. Taylor, of Four Fathom Bay, Pelorus Sound, who left Waitarii for their home on Saturday week in a motor launch, had not since been heard of. Blenheim, Last Night. Further particulars of the disappearance of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Taylor, ol Four Fathom Bay, Pelorus Sound, show that they left Manaroa in a launch on the evening of the 15th inst. for their home, distant twelve or thirteen miles, and have not since been heard of. Word was not received from Four Fathom Bay till last Saturday that the Taylors had left for their home, and it was thought there that they had stayed longer than intended. The captain of the steamer Elsie reports that 011 the evening of the 15th lie saw a flare of! llomewood Point, about six miles from Mannroa, but took it for n fire on the beach. A tin and cushion have been found and have been recognised as belonging to Mr. Taylor's launch, but search parties have discovered no further traces. The worst fears are entertained, as it is thought the flare was caused by the explosion of benzine and that Mr. and Mrs. Taylor both perished.
