CRUELTY TO ANIMALS.

To the Editor. Sir,—Was our worthy deputy-Mayor correctly re]>orted in your issue of Thursday? Ife said something to the effect that the encouragement of the children's section by parents would do away with the need for the societies for the prevention of cruelty to animals.
