SUGAR WORKERS' STRIKE.
NO SETTLEMENT IN SIGHT. By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright. Brisbane, July 21. There have been three fires amongst sugar cane at Lambledon, but the damage is not serious. Incendiarism is suspected. Two strikers were fined for assaulting a free laborer. The whole of the hands at Millaquain refinery have left work. Work is proceeding at a number of centres, with the assistance of farmers, clerks tnd other permanent hands. At the conclusion of the Cabinet meeting the Premier stated that the strike had reached a stage for serious consideration, but not warranting intervention.
