The newspapers in Tokio unanimously commend the release of a Japanese, Matsukftto, who was convicted of the murder or >his twin brother under very remarkable circumstances. The latter was stricken with cancer in the stomach, and his sufferings became so intense that he pleaded with his brother to put him out of his misery. After a heart-rending farewell Mastukato took a sword; and slew his brother with one blow. The operation of the sentence of two years passed upon the prisoner has been suspended for three years, which is tantamount to its cancellation.
