TRADE TREATIES. By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright London, July 20. In the House of Commons Sir Gilbert Parker asked the names of the countries with which it was proposed to negotiate in pursuance of the unanimous resolution of the Imperial Conference to facilitate any dominion's withdrawal from trade treaties. Mr. McKinnon Wood replied: Argentina, Austria-Hungary, Costa Rica, France, Italy, Morocco, the Netherlands, Norway, Persia, Peru, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland and Venezuela.
LAND TRANSFER. London, July 20. During a debate in the House of Lords on land transfer, Earl Loreburn said that apart from stamps and Government charges, £4,000,000 was spent annually in solicitors' fees for proving titles. He promised a Bill of Land Registry similar to that in force in Australia and New Zealand. Lord Salisbury agreed that the present state of the law was a scandal. PURE FLOUR BILL. London, July 20. An all-night sitting on the National Insurance Bill took place over Clause 11, the Labor members demanding sick pay for workmen in addition to accident compensation. Mr. Lloyd-George, in an imp- sioned speech, secured the rejection of t:i ■ proposal by 99 to 23.
