WEST END SCHOOL. The pupils of the West End School, assisted by a number of well-known amateurs, will give a concert this evening in the school gymnasium. An excellent programme is to be given, the children having been capably trained. SAUX'DERS' BIOGRAPH PICTURES. Whiteley Hall was again well patronised last night, and it was a delighted audience that left at the conclusion of a great pictorial feast. "A Tale of Two Cities," beautifully illuminated and excellently projected, was received with unbounded enthusiasm. "The Vicar of Wakefield" also proved a most popular item. In fact the general merit of the new series left little to pick and choose between any item. It is undoubtedly a star amongst star programmes. The farreaching effect of the motion picture is again exemplified in "Unveiling Queen Victoria Memorial," by King George. The whole British Empire was keenly in-] terested in this function last May, and the art of cinematography now places it before the public of New Plymouth at the price of a few tram fares. "An Acrobatic Trio" shows some wonderfully clever feats in head and hand balancing by three exceptionally clever artists. *A screaming comedy by the Vitagraph Company is entitled "Queen for a Day." "A Big Scoop" is an exciting story of keen competition in the world of journalism. Scenic and industrial pictures all find a place on the programme. This fine series will be on view to-night and to-morrow night. A complete change change will be screened at Saturday's matinee.

The musical portion of the programme was up to the usual high water-mark, and the overture comprised of selections from "Faust" was a credit to Mrs. Woods' compact orchestra. "Jael and Sisera," a beautifully colored film to be added to the Royal Pictures programme to-night, is said to be one of the most gorgeously dressed and mounted films yet presented to New llymouibh picture-lovers. Jacl, the wife of Heber, who is friendly with Sisera, aids and helps 'her countrymen, the Israelites, to escape. The prisoners who escaped through her add reveal the situation of Sisera's eamp to Barak, the captain of the Israelites, who marches out to meet Sisera in battle.
