PROTECTION OF SPORTS
INFLUENTIAL COMMITTEE FORMED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A meeting was held to-night to form a New Zealand Sports Protection LeagueMr. 11. D. Bell, K.C.. presided. Racing, trotting, football, hockey, golf, tennis, and athletic bodies throughout New Zealand were represented. It was resolved "that this conference of New Zealand sports organisations, realising the necessity for safeguarding our national sports and pastimes, resolves that a New Zealand Sports Protection Association be formed, with branches throughout (be Dominion, and that the central board of control in Wellington, consisting of Messrs. C. P. Skerrett. K.C.. J. Coates, H. D. Bell, K.C., and the Hon. Dr. Collins, M.L.C., be set up to draft a constitution.
