NICOLA, THE MAN OF MYSTERY. ■ The great Xicola and his clever com-1 pany of sensational mystifiers, who are I to play one night at the Theatre Royal on Friday, July 21, come to this town with the most flattering press recommendations ever accorded a theatrical company. This company is without a doubt the biggest and best magical entertainment that has ever visited this country. Nicola carries will) him over 15 tons of gorgeous paraphernalia, consisting of hundreds of startling illusions and surprises never before seen in this country. Each and every piece of apparatus used in this production is Nicola's own invention, and built in his own workshop and under his direct supervision. It can be safely said tlmt Nicoln presents more startling illusions than any two living magicians, and the stupendous amount of paraphernalia carried by Nicola would more than equip half a dozen of the ordinary one-man magic shows, such as we have seen here in the past. Nicola's programme does not contain any of the time-worn hackneyed feats, where mirror and trapdoors are depended upon for their presentation. Nicola's entire programme is presented upon a brilliantly lighted stage, and each and every item of his programme is presented right out in the open, and could he reproduced right in your, own parlor. The days of the trapdoor and -black art magic are almost .a thing of the past, and no up-to-date exponent of the magic; art will resort to these old-fashioned ideas. Magic as presented by Nicola is no longer looked upon as a humbug, but as a highly scientific entertainment. Everywhere that these clever American entertainers have exhibited, a record attendance his greeted them, and it is safe to say that the capacity of the theatre will be taxed on July 21, when Nicola appears here for the first time. The box plan will be opened on Tuesday morning, July 18, at Collier's, and those anticipating seeing this wonderful entertainment will do well to book seats early.
