LONDON MARKETS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. London, July 16. Copper.—On the spot, £57 2s fid; at three months, £59; electrolytic, £59. Tin.—On the spot, £l9O 10s; at three months, £lB9 10s. Spelter, £25. Iron, 46s lid. Sugar—German, 12# Od; first marks, 14s 3d.

Bradford Wool.—Cheerful and unchanged. Lead.—lmports for the month, 20,445 tons; Australian, 3464 tons; exports, 56G2 tons.

Wool.—At the sales the following prices were realised for the fleece portion of the clips named: —Waiouri, top price 15d, average 13% d; Gear, 12y 3 d and 9%d; Panikau, lOd and B%d. Wheat.—lnactive. Unfavorable crop reports from Russia and Germany and droughty weather in Europe have maintained prices though shipments are heavy and English crop prospects good; 34s 3d is asked for South Australian March-April-May shipments; 34s for a steamer shipment early in July; 34s 6d for Victorian steamers in mid-July and mid-August; 33s was paid for South Australian and Victorian parcels to arrive. There is a slow demand for Australian spot at 35s fid to 30s; best New Zealand longberry, 35s Od.

Flour.—Poor demand; spot, 24s to 24s 3d.

Oats.—Steady. New Zealand scarce. Gartons, 21s to 22s 6d; sparrowbills, 20s Od to 21s Gel; La Plata July-August shipments, 15s 9d. Cheese.—Firm. New Canadian is improving in quality and is selling at 58s; New Zealand, 06s 6d; Victorian, small 55s to 5Gs, large 58s to 595. Sale rather slow owing to plenty ,of Canadian being on the market.

Butter.—Very firm. The continuance of heat is seriously affecting the output in England, Ireland, and on the Continent, especially in France, where it is reported that foot and mouth disease has broken out. Siberian shipments are greatly reduced. Danish 119s to 120s; choicest Australian, 104s to lOGs; unsalted, 106s to 108s, occasionally 110s; secondaries, 92s to 100s. Stored is selling freely. THE WOOL SALES. London, July 14. At the wool sales all good wools show a hardening tendency, and Americans are bidding for good crossbreds. Silver, 24% d per oz.

Mr. Newton King reports:— At Waiwakaiho on Thursday, July fi. there was a fair yarding, with .a good attendance of buyers. Yearling heifers made 30s to £2 6s; yearling steers, 30s to 33s Gd; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 as; two to three-year in calf heifers, £3 5s to £4 7s Od; do Jersey strain, £5 10s Od; springing heifers, £5 12s 6d to £5 IBs; store cows, £2 to £3 3s; forward cows, £4; springing cows, £5 to £8; dairy cows, £fi las to £l3; hulls, £2 Is to £3 12s Od; two-tooth ewes, 13s; old ewes, 6s 4d; wethers, 10s 3d; lambs, 6s Gd.

On Friday, 7th inst, I held a clearing sale at Warea on account of Mr. T. Sutton, when there was a fair attendance. Early calvers made £6 to £l2; later do, £4 to £5 las; very late and poor conditioned, £'3 to £3 ss; 18-month heifers, £2 18s Gd; cows in milk, £8; bull, £10; trap mare, £fl; gelding, £7; sows, £2; small stores, 10s to lis Cd; dray, £l2; discs, £0 10s; sundries at usual rates.

At Urenui on Monday, the 10th inst, owing to the very wet weather there was only a poor yarding. Two to threeyear springing heifers made £3 10s to £4 18s 6d; yearling Jersey heifers, £2 10s; store cows, £2 15s; forward cows, £3 10s to £4 17s; lambs, 7s Gd.

At Stratford on the 11th inst. there was a fair yarding, with a good attendance of buyers. On Thursday, July 13, I held a clearing sale at my Stony River yards on account of Mr. A. Alexander, when there was a very large attendance from both North and Sounth Taranaki and from Auckland. The stock were in excellent condition, bub competition for tflte fat and forward bullocks was not as keen as was expected, prices being in favor of buyers. Sheep also were good buying, the scarcity of feed, no doubt, being pc-cnuntablc for the limited demand for both classes. A big lot of horses were oflVml. most of them being of excellent quality.
