AMUSEMENTS.

PICTUREDRAMA. This new and successful form ol entertainment will be presented here for rthe first time to-morrow (Wednesday) night by the Taylor-Carrington management, who have been fortunate enough to arrange with John Fuller ana 'Sons for the sole rights of production in !New Zealand of a pictorial dramatisation of Marcus Clarke's world famous book, "For the Term of His Natural Life." i'The Lyttelton Times said:—"The pre-, sentation of a picture dramatisation ot Marcus Clarke's Australian book, 'For the Term of His Natural Life,' attract- j ed an exceptionally large attendance to | the Theatre Royal last evening, the sale of tickets being stopped by the City Council's inspector some fifteen minutes before the time of commencing. The tragic and romantic story of the man who suffered for another's crime, at the time when the penal code of Britain involved barbarities which would make the prasent generation shudder, was pre- j sented in a most realistic and convincing manner. The 'scenic effects' surpassed i the efforts of the most successful scenic I artist, while the acting of the principals j in this new method of dramatic repre-1 sentation was entirely satisfactory."] Although the attraction is an expensive! one to bring, popular prices will prevail, and seats may now be reserved ai Collier's without extra fee.

Each scene in this-great picturalrama will be vividly described by members of the company, the whole play thus being laid an open book before the audience.
