The housing committee of the London 'County Council propose to spend £589,675 in demolishing 13y 2 acres of blunts in Sout'hwark, where the death, •rate averages 29 per 1000. THE BOILERMAKERS' STRIKE. Received 1, 12.15 a.m. London, October 31. A committee of masters and the Executive of the Boilermakers' Society has agreed to verbal alterations, removing some of the men's misinterpretation of the agreement, and a fresh ballot will be taken. Stanton, the men's agent, wrote to the manager of the PowellDuffryn Company, of South Wales, to the effect that, if any blacklegging occurs in connection with the dispute there is going to be murder. The company refused to conduct further negotiations with Stanton, whom the men support in his attitude.
Twelve thousand Cambrian miners, whose notices are expiring, propose to the Powell-Duffryn strikers to form a trade union independent of the miners' federation. Twenty-five thousand are affected.
