WAREA. (From Our Own Correspondent). •'Mr. Augustus Jackush met with a nasty accident last week, he being .jambed between a post and a milk cart. Happily no bones were broken. . Mr. Fred Jenkins, the secretary of our local rifle club, will compete at the Taranaki rille meeting ,and later <\t Trentliani. Mr. Jenidns i» a very fair ,sl»ot and should moot with success. 1 understand that the Newel! road school committee intend holding the annual picnic on the 25th inst. The beautiful yellow flower of r.ht ragwort is to be seen on almost every farm this year, in places where it b.is never been seen before, but as the farmers are keeping the weeds down as they come across them, they will not spread this way, but the trouble comes from the Newall run and the Puniho run. which are veritable ragwort seedbeds. I understand the Government Had men clearing the runs last year. 1! notice that the Maoris are cutting a few blackberries along the main roa-i. but it is hard to say hov, far back on to the runs they are going. Swaggers have been fairly plentiful along the road during the last fenweeks, and the old county house at Puniho seems to be a good residence for them. Many of them put in several days there. The milk supply is keeping up well considering the weather. The tests are iair at the local factory, the highest being 4,3.
