A STEAMER'S FATE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. . Auckland, August 12. -the Northern Steamship Companv's steamer Kapaui was almost destroyed by fire at Warkworth this mornin». H hen the outbreak was discovered at 4.J0 a.m. the fire had such a strong hold in the engine-room that the officers, had to .beat a hasty retreat. They lost all their personal property. The after part of the steamer was.burned out. It was low water at the time and the vessel burned to the water's edge.
