THE GERMAN TORPEDO BOAT. London, August 31. Officers of the cruiser Vindictive boarded tihe German torpedo boat which entered the Tyne. The commander of the boat Hertzes, explained the nature of the damage which had induced him to run the boat into the port, and expressed his regret *at his action had caused the stoppage of the naval manoeuvres. The torpedo boat is being repaired.
FATAL EXPLOSION. London, August 31. An explosion occurred in a blast furnace at East Ardsley, Yorkshire. Five men were killed and seven injured.
