At last night's meeting of the Education Hoard leave of absence was granted to Mr. G. W. llogers, owing to the death of iiis mother, which occurred yesterday mOKaing. Mr H. N. Liardet, of Stratford, has been appointed Chief of Staff in Wellington of the Ocean Accident and Fire Insurance Company, which position is the second highest in the company's service in New Zealand, and expects to enter upon his duties probably ahout 'the second week in September, says the Stratford Post.
