BREACHES 01' AWARDS. It was shown that the girl in question was only about 12 years of age. A. Jditchings, Ead«' Bros., 11. Crump, and K. A. Wakeli'n wore ordered to pay expenses for employing non-unionist carpenters. feter Carnio was fined £2 for failing to i pay the wages stipulated by the cooks' ' and waiters' award. Breaches of the ] same award were recorded against W. 11. rhilp, for employing waitresses for
longer hours that stated in the award, tlie girls being also convicted of breaking the award. J. B. innes was fined £2 for employing an apprentice not properly indentured. E. Morton and Co., tailors, were lined £2 for sending out work against the terms ol the award. 8. Philp, butcher, was Uncut £ii for not supplying an employee witlh 5s wortli of meat per week from December, 1907, to May, IUOB. Henry KoSson, the employee concerned, was fined £l. E. C. i oung was lined £2 for failing to allow two employees two bom's lo set their tools in order on i their discharge. J. 0. Brown was fin-. cd £1 for a breach of the carpenters' award. A. Fearce was lined £3 for employing a workman at Is per hour. Tim workman, Pereival Bayford, was ordered to pay costs. Mrs. Enpliemia Smith was lined £3 for keeping an employee working longer hours than allowed by the cooks' and waiters' award. F. F. Dakin was lined £3 for not paying a cook the prescribed rate of wage. Gnnnaway and Co. were fined £2 for a breach of the wharf laborers' award in not engaging labor at tho place fixed.
