Carroll, Native Minister, lias succoeded in promoting peace between the rival factions. The pronouncement was made by a Rua chief that his followers ivonid fall in with the Government's ideas for the settlement of the vast lands of the Urewera country. This was received with wild cheering by the other natives, during which Rim's party chanted tho old war song, signifying that the dispute was ended.
