handicapper, Mr. George Morse, came w for many congratulations for the i excellence of his judgment. Mr. O'Con■or got his fields away in his best stjde, and the judge's (Mr. A. W. Budge) placing was not disputed, while his do- I

ciaions were given with promptness. The Military Band played a long and raried programme of musk. The sum of £0733 was passed through the totalisators, as against £5825 10s last year, when a "double-tote" was in use. The poor field in the Flying Handieip drew only jT.63 in totalisator investments, and caused a shrinkage in the turnover. Bookmakers' fees would more than make up the difference . The aecretary, Mr. Mussell Fleetwood, and hia assistants worked hard to make the meeting a success, and, despite the rati • splendid day's sport was served np for patrons. The following are details of the racing: —

Speciosa led past the judge's box the first time and was never afterwards troubled. Bushranger mof•d np a bit half-a-mile from home, but could not sustain tie effort, and although Moosken came with a good run fa the straight, Speciosa easily drew out and won by three lengths. Moosken beat Black Banner by half-a-dozen lengths for second money' and Star Ro* W» a bad but. Time.'imin 52sec.
