Per Press Association. Napier, Last. Night. Tile military tniiriinmcnt in connection with tlie carnival was commenced today. About 400 competing volunteers were present. The following arc the results:—

Physical Drill—Wellington fitv Ritles 1, Invercargill City Guards 2, llu'tt Va 1 - ley Rides 3. Tent Competition— Grey town Rides 1 Palmerston North Riiles 2. Ambulance Competition— No. 5 Wellington Field Hospital Hearer Corps, and Napier St. .John's Ambulance equal first.
