THE FIGHT TO CONTINUE. . | A CRITICAL POSITION. Received March 2l>, 1.10 a.m. Sydney, March 25. The trouble between the cua-tal shipping companies and the Wharf Laborers' Union is to continue. The conference broke up to-night after a further lengthy sitting. Sir. Hughes announced that the companies had rejected the terms submitted by the union, ami the struggle would continue.
On behalf of the companies a statement was made Unit the only point tli.y are lighting for is freedom of contra:-:. This was not only in their own interest, but in tho interests of employers of labor throughout Australia. Many rumors are current as to Lbc probable development and extension 'if the strike. The position is considered critical. Both sides were reticent during the day. The Employers' Federation, at a meeting, reallirmed their intention to preserve the right of private contract ii regard to the employment of free labor
