PERSONAL.
By the train ou Tuesday morning two parties left llawcra for England, Mr. and Mrs. George McLean and daughter, and Mr. and Mrs. 11. Cook. A number of friends were at the station to bid them good-bye and wish them a pleasant trip and a safe, return. Both go in the Arawa. leaving Wellington on Thursday. It w understood that Sir. McLean and party intend to acquire an up-to-date motor car soon after arrival, and spend the summer in touring England, Scotland, and Ireland, surely an land, Scotland, and Ireland, surelv an wera Star.
Mr. G. Cork, a former resident if New Plymouth, arrived in town lasti night, and proposes spending a fe«r days here. For some time past he haß lieen in South Africa'. The present trip is being taken for the, sake of his health. Mr. W. Rogers, of the Pembroke road, has been elected to the Education Board, vice Mr. W. Monkhouse, who recently resigned. The votes cast wers as follow:—Mr. Rogers 45, Mr. F W. Wake (Stratford) 36, Mr. J. Jem'ison (Tariki) 28.
