FITZROY HALL. THURSDAY, 9th APRIL. A. WELLER, Hon. TO THE CROWN TENANTS OF THE TARANAKI LAND BOARD. and GENTLEMEN,—I have the honor to inform you that I am a candidate for a seat on the Land Board of the above district. As giving me exceptional qualifications for the position, I have had over twenty years' experience as a Crown tenant, including twclvo years as an improved farm settler in the backblocks of Taranaki. I therefore understand the requirements oi the backblocks settlers as only those of experience can do. If elected, I shall use every effort in my power to show that your confidence has not been misplaced. I have the honor to be, Yours faithfully, JOHN SHEEHY, Okau. MAYORALTY ELECTION. TO THE ELECTORS OF NEW TLYMOUTH. LADIES and GENTLEMEN, - His Worship the Mayor, Mr. E. Dockrill, having definitely decided not to sc;k re-election, I beg to announce that I shall be a candidate for your suffrages at the coming election, and to respectfully solicit your support and influence. Yours faithfully, FRED. C. J. BELLRINGER. THE MAYORALTY. TO THE BURGESSES OF NEW PLYMOUTH. and GENTLEMEN, - Having acx-eded to your request in placing my sen-ices in your hands, I feel that 1 have the time and the energy to fittingly represent New Plymouth. I have had some years of Municipal experience. I took a prominent part in placing the Borough loan proposals before the ratepayers, and worked hard to carry the schemes in their entirety. When on the Council I held the position of Chairman of the Health Committee, the T Committee, and the Abattoirs Coi tee, and represented the Borough on the "' aki Hospital and Charitable Aid

I recognise .New Plymouth to be one of the leading Boroughs in the Dominion, possessing many natural advantages; and I am prepared to devote my attention to making New Plymouth what I think it ought to be—"the seaside and health resort of the North Island." An » traveller 1 recognise the value of catering for the tourist traffic, and much can be done in this direction by improving our environs and seafront, which can be done with little cost to the ratepayers. By the help of pub-lic-spirited citizens the work of improving and extending tho Esplanade from the Te Henui to the Breakwater could be carried out. This is a most valuable asset, and New Plymouth people do not realise the advantages we have to oiler to tourists and gentlemen desirous to settle in retirement.

Re a Greater New Plymouth: I hope to show the suburban districts that by joining the Borough they would be marching with progress, and that there would be many benefits gained by amalgamation. 1 am not prepared to CO/3mit the ratepayers to a further loan. I am decidedly in favor of placing a larger sum on the estimates for the purpose of kerbing and channeling with concrete and making permanent footpaths in the Borough. Ee the Electric light, Water Supply, and Drainage: 1 know the Council gets attacks from many quarters. I am not an expert, but shall use common-sense in dealing with those matters. I have no axe to grind, but a desire to devote my time and energy to making the town attractive to the increasing population and the large influx of travellers; and, if elected, I promise to U the time and attention rc"""h a high position. Yours faithfully, G. TISGH.
