ITATEMENT BY THE PROPRIETORS.
Received Nov. 7, 0.10 p.m. Sydney, Novmeber. In connection with the miners' de■liands, the colliery proprietors have rared a statement of the wages earned it the principal collieries in tho Newcastle and Maitland districts during the iast six months. At twenty-one pits, .he daily wages ranged from 10s to 16s, ivoraging about 13s. One colliery ranged from lGs to 31s 2d. An incrase of fourponcc in the hewing rate will mean an additional fourteen pence per day- ■ I'D: ■ w By the closing of the Burwood and i r.ambton pits, over SOO miners have been rendered idle.
