0 : yi REFORMS WANTED. Per Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. A deputation representing thirty-five Members of Parliament waited on the Premier to-day and made the following proposals regarding the Bank of New Zealand holders on the same footing'as private shareholders as to dividend; (2) to reduce charges to the public for banking services, as abolition of the charge for keeping school committees' accounts, exchange on cheques.e to.; (3) reduce the charges for making advances to local bodies; (4) ro the regulation by the bank prohibiting, clerks from marrying unless in receipt of £2OO per annum, which the bank sometimes withholds until a man is well advanced in life, thus interfering with his common Bocial right.
The Premier promised to give the matter his careful consideration.
