On Saturday such useful articles as an iron safe, 30ft. hose, furniture, and E.P. ware will be sold, and those attending the sale may reasonably look for bargains. At Mr Tippins' clearing sale on Thursday Messrs Wilson and Nolan report

having realised good prices for all lines. There was keen competition for the dairy cows, which were a good lot. In search of copy, a reporter looked in at Messrs Wilson and Nolan's produce storo on Wednesday, and found an animated sale in progress. The catalogue of hides submitted was, we should thing, a record for the province. It at any late, opened our eyes to see the stacks and stacks of hides and skins—it's a wonder where they all come from. Every lot put up was well competed for, and it seemed that the demand was quite equal to the supply. Numbers of these hides are sold for export to Australia.' and many go from there to Japan and America. To cope with the increasing trade, and to provide for the coming wool season, Messrs Wilson and Nolan hope to increase their accommodation, ns their already spacious store is proving quite inadequate for the trade doing.
