Dear Sir, '"The footballers of Taranaki regret e:-AV(*i!:::g!y lo hear that you arc; leaving this district., and desire to convey to you their high appreciation of the good results that have accrued from your association with the pastime. Iwrst as a player, they have much to , thank you for. The keen interest shown by you led many others to loster the game whole heartedlv, the outcome of which undoubtedly placed Taranaki in the /rout rank of 1 footballers. Both as a colonial and pro viaeiat representative on numerous occasions, you upheld tlie honour of tho colony aud your province, in arij clilion to which your assistance in other Avays, more especially to the Taranaki Union, allowed provincial engagements to be carried out that otjierwjse would have been impossible, cilice ceasing to take an active part in the game,'during which time you have held the position of president of tl.e Union and. selector of the representative team your help and advice have been of great service to both the ]Uanagement Committee and players, lour departure from Taranaki will leave a gap in the football circles that we can honestly say without ikiLtery to yourself will be almost impossible to Jill, but as the distance separating us is not a great one we hope to see you retain an interest in Taranaki football, ami you will always be sure of a, hearty welcome whenever you can iind time to pay us a visit.
