Very little business has been transacted in invetmeni shares, New Zealand Insurances current rates being the stock mostly dealt in. In mining, Talisman's have been in good demand, but Waihis have receded. owing to a drop in the home prices. They now stand at £$ iS , at which price they return over 8 per cent, and I strongly recommend their purchae. Taranaki Petroleum have been in active demand up to 13/ and 1 have numerous buyers, but sellers are scarce. Timid holders in other centres have been getting rid of their shares which have mostly pa-sed into ■local hands. The new issue of the Inglewood Oil Boring Co. u.e also being well subscribed for.
