Lord Lansdowne and the Duke of Devonshire resumed the debate in the Home of Lords on the Education Bill, with temperate speeches. The Government's original proposal for religious instruction on two morning! per week in ordinary facilities schools was restored. Lord Salisbury's amendment to grant facilities to any single school area in response to the wishes of a reasonable number of parents, was adopted. The majority of parents necessary to secure the special facilities was raised to two-thirds.
