RED LETTER DAY IN CHRIST CHURCH.

The programme (or me opening' joromony of the Exhibition on Thursday provides for the commencement it proceedings at 11.30 a.m., when li.s Excellency the Governor and party will be received and escor.ed to their places by the Pres.cient (Sir joteph Ward), vice presidents, Executive Commi-siuni'is, Chairman of he Executive (Mr C. M. Gray, M.H.R.), and members of "the Cerenonial Committee. The National Anthem is to be played by the Woolton Brass Hand and tiio orchestra as die procession thus formed files through the main corridor, and sung by tne choir when the Vice-Regal oarty has reached the seats allotted ior its use.

Immediately thereafter the ode written by Mr Johannes C. Anderson is to be rendered by the ohoir (composed of members of tho Musical Unijns) and orchestra, conducted by Mr Alfred Hill. R.C.M.L., composer of the music. Having briefly recapitulated the main features connected with the inauguration and completion of the Exhibition, Sir Joseph Ward is to present a gold key to Lord Plunket, a jewelled gold pass to Lady Plunket, and a gold pass to Lady Kathleen requesting His Excellency to declare the Exhibi.ion open. The Governor will reply to the Premier's address, and, after the Hundredth Psalm has been sung by those present, will declare the Exhibi" \itfn duly open. Although only those who have received official invitations will be admitted to the building in the morning, the public (including season ticket holders) will have access to the grounds for the purpose of witnessing the cavalry demonstration and military races within the sports enclo|sure.

At the conclusion of the opennig ceremony (about x p.m.), the Exhibition will'be thrown open to the public, the signal for which willbe playing of the National Anthem by the massed bands.
