A BOGUS SHOOTING AFFAIR
'(!Vr Tress Association.) AUCKLAND, I'ov. 29. Tlie police were informed on Sunday tliat a very strange shooting affair had occurred in '■ rev Street. The victim, a youth named Joseph Dodgson, had to I<e taken to .1 private hospit.il suffering from a buliet wound in his right hand. Ife explained that a strange man had shot at him and | ntn away. A detective was directed I to investigate the mystery, and to-day it was completely cleared up, JJodgsin making a statement that t!ie uiysteri00s man who ran away was an invention of his own. He had I teen pliying with a toy revolver on Sunday evening, and while jutting it in his jacket hi- injured himself by accidentally lettiug it oIT. As he was afraid that his parenti* would he angry with him for huviug a revolver, he made up the ftory to deceive thew.
