THE HUULEK AGAIN. • (To the Editor.) Sir,—They tell me the Bugler at the East End is still naughty and continues to practice in order that he may become efficient. My sympathies are with good old Wastney. In my time I have experienced rude | shocks from the like, and it pleases me to know there are others who j take it on themselves to make mountains out of such like. Not long ago Jl betook me away to fresh pastures 'because a neighbour's dog had a [nasty habit of making an- infernal sort of noise at night time, but, alas, I went to the land where cats held the sway, which proved even worse, so I hied me off to tiie country for peace and (Juiciness, but here again I was baffled, as the noise of calves and other cattle g.ot on my so I struck the happy medi, lllll between town and country, full of hope, but before long again, to jmy dismay, 1 found the din of the j frogs in a pond hard by was more melancholy still. One more move brought me to where, in a neighbour's poultry yard, the hens would cackle, and the cocks would crow altogether too early in the morning to suit me ; so now I am wandering at large awaiting to crmbark with a few sober, solemn, conscientious men who know and are keen to identify |a nojse when they hear it. The Messrs Hoberts (T pot and otherwise) .have in the near past written most [able and useful articles on various noises'to lie heard at night, and I think if we formed ourselves into a band (no brass) we might well discuss the height of our apparent ambition, which is to be alone on a large barren island where there are no such worries, and business will be farthest from our thoughts. Can anyone help us ?—Yours, etc., THE SKIPPER.
