With reference to • a northern paper's aaroaatic reference to hi* re- * k marks in Parliament against Mr * Masscy's suggestions that in fairness to depositors in the Savings Uaak' interest should lie raised, Sir Joseph Ward said hof still held the belief that the raising of the Savings Dank rate was a mistake, even in the interests of small depositors, as R .tended to limit the employment ot money. His motto was 'plenty of money at cheap rates.' That was the way to keep the country prosperous.
