BURNED TO DEATH
Aged Pensioner’s Fate Press Association—-Copyright. Timaru, May 13. A pensioner, Mr Emelies Warne, aged 76, wa 9 burned to death in his hut at Orari thia morning. He retir. ed at 6.15 p.m. on Wednesday. When neighbours were returning home from a dance at 2.30 this morning nothing was amiss, but at 6 o'clock they wefe awakened by a fire which had too great a hold to enable them to enter the building. Mr Warnes was' a carpenter by trade and had resided In the district for many years. It is not known whether he has any relatives in the Dominion.
