UNITED OLD BOYS. Review of Year’s Activities. A satisfactory year experienced by the United Old Boys’ Rugby Football Club is reviev.'ed in the report to be presented to the annual meeting on Wednesday night. Th© membership ot the club wag still good., the report stated. Honorary members had increased, -but Owing to the club not fielding a third grade team, players’ membership had decreased. With the Saturday halfholiday this year, the club anticipated a more successful season in this respect.

An eminently satisfactory season was experienced on the playing field. On the whole the senior team played bright, open football and gained a reasonable measure of success. Tire committee recommended that there should be at least two training mT'jts a week. Congratulations were extended to W. J. Cochrane and A. Kocfoed, v’’io .were selected to represent the '| province. i The junior team made a creditable I showing, especially as they were I handicapped by lack of players. ! The excellent services of Mr G. j Graham snr. and Mr E. T. Cahill jnr. : who acted as coaches and selectors, i were acknowledg 'd. ! The. senior team defeated the, Star i senior team in tiu annual game for ! the D. M. Jury and also de'Tat- ■ ed Eltham in the L dme for the buni plough Shield. I In spite of the boisterous wenfh'r .on the night of the annual ball, it 1 vas with satisfaction to all those I who zealously worxed to make the function a success, to lie able to ■record that their services were not i given in vain. The committee aci knowledges the assistance given by the ladies’ committee and' all those ■who h l.ped to make the function so I successful. i The club's annua! Sinner was helS |in the Commercial Hotel in August j and was a decided success. The com-

Cook, presid nt for the past I three years and who was one of the .! club’s staunchest supporters since its i formation. L. von | Sturmer (chairman, .management ! committee and senior team manlaser) ; Mr A. C. Walksr (management committee and senior forward): Mr S. W. Whyte (management committee); Mr H. McCluggage (management comimittte). The balance sheet showed receipts amounting to £59/17/10, the principal items being: Subscriptions, £22/3/-, gate receipts, £l5/9/4, and profit from annual ball. £7/3/5. The total expenditure was £59/9/10. leaving a bank balance of 8/-. Travelling expenses amounted to £24/2/9.
