CO-OPERATIVE CONFERENCE.
Sydney, April 7
An interstate congress of consumers and co-operative societies is sitting with the object of organising and developing the co-operative system throughout the Commonwealth, with a view to cutting out excessive and unregulated competition, preventing waste in production and distribution, and securing the ®ghest standard of efficiency by cooperative purchase and disposal. It is hoped thus to secure profit-sharing between master and workman, and cut out attempts to exploit the public. The conference decided to form a. Cooperative Union embracing the whole Commonwealth, and to proceed with propaganda work
Sydney, April 8. 'The Co-operative Conference appointed a. cpmmittee to draw up its constitution.
