NEW £10,000 PRIZE FLIGHT.

BRITAIN TO INDIA AND BACK WITH 13001b CARGO.

The rules have been issued guiding the competition for a £10,000 prize offered by the "Daily Express" for a flight from Great Britain to India and back. The prize is offered for the entrant who first succeeds in carrying by air a cargo of 12001b from Great Britain to India and back. The competition is open to persons of any nationality, holdm«r a license issued by any aero club affiliated with the Federation Aeronatique Internationale. ~,.,,_ The flight must be accomplished between May 1,1920, and October. 31, both dates inclusive. The time occupied on. both outward or homeward Journey is not to exceed 288 hours (twelve days), and the homeward journey must be commenced within fifteen days of the arrival in India. The cargo may be carried on one aircraft, or may be distributed between not more than two aircraft, and the aircraft may be changed en route, provided that all aircraft used by any one entrant arc identified with one firm of aircraft constructors. The term ' aircraft" for the purposes of this competition includes aeroplanes, seaplanes, and airships. The crew must not be changed during the competition, but more than one member of the crew may be a pilot and act as such if required. The selection and provision of the cargo of ]2001 V are left to the entrant. No alteration in the outward or homeward ''argo is permitted en route. The start from and arrival hack in Great Britaan must he at an air station licensed tor foreign travel, while Karachi ; is the control and turning, point in India.
