A POSTMASTER'S THEFT.

invercargiH, Feb. 24. Harry Leonard Malthus, postmaster at Edendale, was charged at Court today with the theft of £300 paid him by a larmer to invest in tie War Loan. Accused admitted the offences, stating that he had been heavily involved through betting, and would replace the amount. Accused was committed for sentence.
