POINT OF LAW TO SETTLE.

Palmerstpn North, Feb. 22. At the Palnierston North Supreme Court, C. W. Dale, employed at Lake House jWaikavemomona, sued John Gille&pie, Palnierston North, for £1000 damages, for alleged lFoel contained in a letter to tfie Minister of the Tourist and Health Deparment complaining of the loss of a rug and implicating Dale. The jury returned a verdict . for the plaintiff and assessed the damages at £275. Counsel for the defendant opposed the entering of the judgment on •a point of law, winch will be considered oa Tuesday.
