Wellington, Feb. 22: The following telegram has been received by the Prime Minister:—"MajorPuttinck, the officer commanding the. armed force sent from New Zealand to Fiji in connection with the strike there, reports that the situation has considerably quietened down since tfee- 14th > when a small riot occurred. Then -a few shots were fired in support of thopolice, who were attacked with sticks, and fifteen riotess were wounded. Tho Indians are resuming work and ererything js quiet in all the districts.
