DISPOSAL OF HIDES.

NEW REGULATIONS ISSUED.

Wellington, Feb. 20. The new regulations dealing with hides are beiner issued. The- are on the linos of the Australian scheme, providing; practicall- ji free market as far' as prices are concerned, but ensuring adequate sunpUes to local tanners. They provide that the tanners are to have the right to take any lot of hides at auction at the price at which it is knocked down. Hides not sold by auction must be' offered to tanners before being: sold or exported. The Government retains' the control off esrporf- in order to enforce these'ooncijtwr>s. ,
