LABOUR APPOINTEES FOR UPPER

HOUSE.

Brisbane, Feb. 19. The Government has appointed fourteen prominent Labourites to tho Legislative Council in .order to seeuro the passage of Labour .legislation.

The Premier, in announcing the appointments, said the .Conservative majority "consistently blocked Goverrtnieni; business, seriously hampering legislation, and interfered with the Goverr--•ment's financial T>olicy. The position had become intolerable.
