It is understood that legislation will be introduced in the coming session of Parliament to grant seini-diplomatio powers to a Canadian mission to Washington in order to do away with tio necessity of sending correspondence between Canada and the United States via the Colonial Office in London. Si is believed that matters pertaining to Imperial interests, however, will bo dealt with by a Canadian representative iii co-operation with the British; Ambassador.
