Auckland, Dec. 2. Tho position regarding the butchers' bfcriko remains unaltered. The Conciliation Commissioner is still active in hie efforts to bring about a settlement, »nd an improvement, is reported in the prospects of eventually achieving a Compromise. The most recent development ia a proposal by the Butchers' .Union to open retail shops in the city manned by its members and directed as to business arrangements by its executive. 'The Westfield stock sales are suspended pending a. settlement of tho dispute.
