BECKETT-CARPENTIER MATCH

Beckett and* Carpentier meet next Thursday. The contest is exciting extraordinary interest. The newspapers are publishing long descriptions of Beckett's training at Southampton, where, the public are lionising him. He is confident he will win. Little is known regarding Carpentier, who is training secretly at Stanmore. His-party are fully satisnecT and equally confident of success. There was a great rush for seats, which are practically all sold, the prices ranging from £5 to £35. There is now only standing room available at five guineas.
