Port Darwin, Oct. 15,

A meeting of citizens, presided over by the Mayor, resolved that having tried a system of administration of the Northern Territory by an Advisory Council and found it abortive, the people now demand the appointment of a Council with executive powers. The meeting appointed a deputation to interview Mr Carey (Director of the Territory), Mr Evans (Government Secretary), and Mr Justice Bevan, and ask them to resign and leave the Territory by the first steamer. A later message states that the Director, 'in order to avoid a revolution, promised to advise the Minister for Home Affairs that they were leaving by the next boat.
