WAKEFIELD.
September 22nd. At a^ meeting held at Wakefield a short time ago, the charter members of •the Jocal branch of the V.M.C.A. de* c.n.ieu to go on with the movement. 'Accordingly, a constitution was adopt-. |Ed and a Board of Directors elected, which comprises the following gentlemen: —Canon Dart. Messrs W. Stringer, G. Wilkens, G. Robertson, J. Watt, 'J. T. Baigent, Thos. Curran, Jos. Eves, 11. E. Fitzsimmdis, Clif. Griffith, JJJ. .. W. Hodgson, J. G. Ingram, E. Macpherson, A. W. Newth, and R. T. VVearne. The first meeting of this Board was held at the Oddfellows' Hall on Thursday night, September 18th, when nearly all the members were present. Canon Dart was voted to the chair. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Canon J. R. Dart; vice-presidents, Mr W. Stringer and Mr G. Wilkens; secretary, Mr J. Watt; treasurer, Mr G. Robertson. It was decided to make full enquiries with regard to a site and a suitable hutment, and committees were set up to report oh these matters to the next meeting of the Board.
