ACCIDENTS.

(From "The Colonist," Sept. 26th.) A returned soldier named IsaacUEEall, residing in St. Vincent street, met with a bicycle accident near the railway station at about 1 o'clock yesterday. The fork of the machine he was riding broke, and ho was .thrown heavily. _ He received injuries to his face necessitating his admission to the Hospital. September 27th. _ Whilst engaged in felling a tree in the Sherry district on Thursday afternoon Mr J. Lines had the misfortune to meet with an accident of a serious :wture. Before tlie tree was ready to fail a back wind sprang up and caused it to go in the direction of Mr Lines, throwing him to the ground by striking him across the chest. He had several ribs broken, besides suffering minor briuses. Mr Lines came to town yesterday to receive medical attention. October 4th. The "Golden Bay Times" reports that Mr Gordon Richmond, of Motupipi, met with rather a severe accident on Monday morning whilst endeavouring fo bail up" a young heifer. The animal broke loose and collided with a gate which Mr Richmond was holding, the young man receiving the full weight of the cow and gate on his left leg, with the result that both bones were broken below the knee. The sufferer received medical attention and is progressing satisfactorily.
