The stalls, which were placed at intervals in Trafalgar street, were well laden with narcissi, cut blooms, pot plants, ferns, etc., the response to the appeal for gifts having been very satisfactory. A large number of eggs were collected hy the school children, and these met with ready sale at current prices. The 'fat bullock lent by Mr F. W. Owing to the scarcity of produce, the country districts were not represented, but a city produce stall was arranged, at •-'Tiieh gifts received were disposed of. There was a 'big demand for freesias, but owing to the lateness of the season very few of these sweeir-scenbed flowers were sent In. Those received 'were speedily disposed of.
