TRACTOR PLOUGHING COSTS.
The figures below give the approximate cost of ploughing an acre with two, three, and four-plough tractors in America based on an average cost of £160, £220, and £280 respectively, and a life of 7-J- years of 45 working days per year. With a two-plough tractor burning petrol, it cost 6s 4d per acre; burning kerosene it cost ss' 6}-d per acre. With a three-plough tractor (petrol) it cost 6s i-J-d per acrej with kerosene 5s Id per acre. With a four-plough tractor (petrol) it cost- 68 3d per acre, and (kerosene) 5s 2£d per acre. These wore the total costs, and included labour, depreciation, repairs, interest, fuel, oil, and grease. The repairs, per ac^e, for the two-plough size, cost s|d • depreciation, Is 6d; main labour, Is lid; and interest 4d. For the three-plough size the figures] are s£d., Is 6|d, Is sd, 4d; and for the four-plough size, 6d, Is' Del, Is 3d, and 4id. ' I
